What is IPL ?
IPL laser is a “Intense Pulse Light” laser that helps to even skin tone by eliminating vascular lesion, and sun/aging spots. It can be used anywhere on the body including the hands, face, neck, legs and abdomen.
How does IPL work ?
Hemoglobin is involved in red blood cells and blood vessels. They contribute to the superficial vessels that can arise on the skin surface. Melanin is involved in creating sun and aging spots in the skin.
Using the handheld device, a professional will target the wavelengths of light deep into the skin. The IPL laser functions by emitting a specific wavelength of light that targets the pigments hemoglobin and melanin. The laser is then absorbed by melanin and hemoglobin, heating up the cells causing the blood vessel wall to break and the melanin pigment to dissolve. The body then removes the damaged tissue naturally.
Reasons to use IPL
hyperpigmentation
melasma
stretch marks
sun damage
Acne Scars
Birthmarks
Rosacea
wrinkles
Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation:
Photofacial skin rejuvenation is a treatment in which the skin cells are delivered light energy into the deeper layer of the skin. This prompts the skin to generate new collagen and elastin fibers. Thus, helping to reduce the appearance of acne, aging, sun spots, and damage.
Pigment Lesions:
Pigment is the color in your skin. When you have too much in one area it is called “hyper-pigmentation”, and the spots appearing on your skin as a result are called “pigmented lesions”. A pigmented lesion is a spot on the skin, usually brown or a similar dark color, created by having too much melanin in the skin. With the IPL laser we can lesson the look of those spots creating a more even skin tone.
Broken Capillaries:
Broken capillaries are actually tiny blood vessels that have burst under the skin that can appear in any location on the body, but are especially noticeable in the nose area or other regions of the face. The red veins take on the shape of spiderwebs, which is why they are also called "spider veins." Broken capillaries can appear on the face for any number of reasons, including physical trauma, hereditary reasons, sun damage, aging, or due to medical conditions.
